Samantha's New Design

It's been too long since I've drawn Samantha. In fact, it's been a long time since I've drawn anything humanoid and I'm afraid it shows. I'm afraid I've forgotten how to draw humans. I've been doing ponies and fan-fics for too long.

I wanted to take this chance to redesign her. Fact is, she's no longer as young as she used to be. More midriff than coverage just didn't seem practical.

I moved her sword to her side because, even though drawing a sword from your back, as popular as it is in movies and cartoons, it's just not practical in the real world. I also added a gun. Always more of a swords person, Samantha's also learned that bringing a sword to a gunfight doesn't always work.

I decided to just do a casual jeans/shirt and sneakers. The kevlar chestgaurd was the only carry over. For one thing, I needed something that still sold this as Samantha. For another thing, even though she has a healing factor, getting shot still hurts.

So, a new look, not to make her look more fantasy'ish, but more practical.

Pay no mind to the background. No real thought was put into it and it's not meant to be symbolic or anything. I just didn't want a pure white background.
